New railway freight corridor segment opens, cutting transit time for two industrial belts

A newly commissioned stretch of the dedicated freight corridor has opened, connecting two major industrial belts without routing through a passenger line.

Officials estimate the segment will cut average freight transit time on the route by roughly a third.

Remaining sections of the corridor are scheduled for completion over the next two years.
